Not because he was a human being or because he was a soldier, but because he measured up to the popular American standard for masculinity and because his “toughness” was ironic through the lens of stereotypes homosexual men are branded with.

I’m sick of people flying the LGBTQ rights flag to win votes, fans, and/or publicity while they’re still spewing the same bullshit heteronormative values.  Fuck off.
